Ohio’s Romantasy Queen: Meet the Mompreneur Behind NEO Brand Literary Chic💅

From Ohio Roots to Worldwide Fans: How One Local Mom Is Turning Bookish Dreams Into a Growing Brand

Meet the Local Mom Turning Bookish Obsession into a Thriving Business 💘📚

Let me introduce you to someone you’ll wish you knew sooner—Tiffany Shannon, the baddie mastermind behind Literary Chic, a growing print-on-demand brand that’s making serious waves in the Romantasy world (that’s romance + fantasy, for the uninitiated).

But here’s the best part: she’s not running her business from some faraway fantasy land. She’s building it right here in Northeast Ohio, balancing mom life, book love, and entrepreneurship—all while making it look easy. 💅

From Realtor to Romantasy Entrepreneur

Tiffany’s journey into bookish merch started in a surprisingly relatable way: with a career pivot and a spicy book series that reignited her love of reading. After working in real estate and social media management, she found herself searching for her next move.

Around that time, she fell hard for A Court of Thorns and Roses and The Empyrean series—so hard, in fact, that she started buying merch from Etsy. But something was missing.

“I realized if I was buying it, other people had to be too,” she says. “But I couldn’t find anything that fit my style. So, one night, I looked at my husband and said, ‘I’m going to start my own business!’” And just like that, Literary Chic was born.

Her real estate skills turned out to be the perfect training ground. From marketing savvy to social media know-how, Tiffany shifted everything she learned in real estate to her new venture, while her husband Shane continues to run their real estate business.

Now, she’s designing and selling everything from tees to blankets to drink sleeves, often with stylish nods to fan-favorite book series. She’s even licensed with major authors like Sarah J. Maas—a dream come true for a fan who included Throne of Glass quotes in her wedding vows! 💘

Rooted in Northeast Ohio

While Tiffany’s business is reaching customers across the globe (yep, she’s shipping merch to Australia, Germany, and beyond), her heart is firmly in Northeast Ohio. Born and raised here, she says growing up in Ohio gave her the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

“Ohio is kind of all over the board,” she says. “You meet blue-collar and white-collar workers, and it helps you stay a little humble. I definitely feel like I’m rooted here.

When she’s not running her growing business, you’ll find Tiffany grabbing coffee at her favorite local coffee shop Nervous Dog, checking out a new bookstore like The Mythical Bookworm for her next read, or hanging at Rockne’s, which her husband’s family owns (so, yeah—her Ohio roots run deep).

Juggling Mom Life and a Growing Brand

If you’re wondering how she balances running a business and raising a toddler… well, she doesn’t. 🤣🤣

“I don’t balance it. I just bounce back and forth,” she laughs. “I’m constantly making sure my daughter’s getting all the love and attention she needs, while also running the business. “I work early mornings, late nights, during naps—whenever I can. It’s chaotic, but so worth it.” 🥰

Building a Business That Feels Like Home

For Tiffany, the best part of Literary Chic isn’t just seeing people all over the world wear her designs (though that is super cool). It’s the community.

“There are people I met online that I talk to every day—more than my real-life friends,” she says. “Connecting over the merch is just fun. I’m having the best time.”

She’s even creating some of her pieces by hand now, adding even more personality to her collections. Oh, and her latest Throne of Glass drop? Extra special, because she and her husband literally included quotes from the series in their wedding vows. If that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is.

What’s Next? More Merch, More Magic

Tiffany’s advice for anyone in Northeast Ohio thinking about starting their own creative business?

“Just go for it.”

“You don’t have to have it all figured out. We’re all winging it. And other people in your industry aren’t your competition—they should be your community.”

She knows firsthand how powerful that community can be. She’s now an admin in a group that teaches other people how to get started in print-on-demand, and helping others launch their own thing has been just as rewarding as building her own.

And as for what’s next? More merch, more collections, and someday maybe (fingers crossed) a dream collab with Rebecca Yarros or Suzanne Collins. Until then, Tiffany is living the Romantasy dream—designing, creating, and shipping bookish magic all over the world.

So if you love romantasy, dark romance, or just supporting amazing local moms who are out here crushing it, go check out Literary Chic. Because trust me—this is only the beginning of Tiffany’s story.
