Hey, Amy here,

Have you ever noticed there are only two kinds of people when it comes to spooky season?

Thereโ€™s Team Forever Spooky - the ones who still have last yearโ€™s cobwebs up because, duh, they look festive. Theyโ€™ve been mainlining pumpkin spice since August and are currently hot-gluing bat wings to the dogโ€™s costume.

And then thereโ€™s Team Cozy-Reset - the ones quietly shoving Halloween back into storage bins while muttering โ€œno more ghosts.โ€ (Thatโ€™s me, hi ๐Ÿ‘‹).

Then, I suppose, there are also the people who just want some good food and could care less about all this nonsense. ๐Ÿ˜…

Soโ€ฆ three. There are three kinds of people.

IYKYK ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Whichever camp youโ€™re in, todayโ€™s hacks are tailor-made for you.

Pick your poison ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ If you love Halloween: scroll to Section 1.
๐Ÿ‚ If youโ€™re ready for a clean, cozy reset: scroll to Section 2.
๐Ÿฅง If you just want food recs: scroll to Section 3.

(Thereโ€™s also a poll at the bottom โ€” because I need to know Iโ€™m not the only one vacuuming up fake spiderwebs before breakfast.) ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€

๐ŸŽจ Section 1 | For the Halloween Hardcore

If youโ€™re still in full celebration mode, this sectionโ€™s your candy-corn-scented playground.

This list is all about crafts you can do with the kids (or alone, Iโ€™m not judging) with pretty much just the stuff you already have lying around. So if youโ€™re still looking for Halloween fun, this is a great option without adding stress. ๐Ÿ‚

I especially love the bat bookmarks and the Q-tip skeleton projects - so clever and easy! I know youโ€™ll be obsessed with these ideas:

Feeling More Ambitious?

If youโ€™re a crafting pro and love nothing more than going to Hobby Lobby and collecting a cart full of glitter, googly eyes, and scrapbook paper, then youโ€™ll love this list.

๐Ÿ‘‰ It has some of the most creative Halloween crafting & decor ideas Iโ€™ve ever seen! The man-eating monster plant DIY and the mummy luminaries are so freaking cute - youโ€™re gonna have so much fun with this:

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Section 2 | For the Fall Flippers (a.k.a. the Halloween Hangover Club)

This oneโ€™s for those of us who hit skip on โ€œThrillerโ€ as soon as itโ€™s socially acceptable.
Weโ€™re ready for calm lighting, warm blankets, and cinnamon without chaos -
letโ€™s call it the great un-haunting of your home.

โœจ 1. Calm Your Senses (Literally)

Your body just survived days (or weeks) of flashing lights, sugar highs, and jump scares. Try square breathing - in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4 - while you light something that smells like fall and take a minute to let your shoulders drop.
If you want more quick ways to downshift from sensory chaos, this list is gold:

๐Ÿ‚ 2. The 5-Minute โ€œUn-Hauntโ€ Cleanse

You donโ€™t need to redecorate all at once - just start shifting the energy. Clear one surface (the coffee table counts) and swap a spooky trinket for something classy and autumn-y: a cranberry candle, a book stack of autumn poetry & Thanksgiving devotionals, or a natural element like a bowl of acorns or pine cones. Itโ€™s a visual cue that the chaos is over.

๐Ÿชต 3. Create a Comfort Corner

Pick one cozy spot - your couch, a chair, even the kitchen table - and layer it with warmth: blanket, candle, maybe your favorite fall snack. This is your new headquarters for not doing anything productive.

๐Ÿฅง Section 3 | The Food-Only Crowd

If youโ€™re reading this with candy in hand thinking, โ€œIโ€™m not crafting anything, just tell me where to get some tasty treatsโ€ this sectionโ€™s for you.

Here are three local picks Iโ€™ve loved lately (and would happily haunt again):

  1. Gray House Pies (Westlake) (That sweet-potato-chocolate-ganache-pecan situation deserves its own holiday.)
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Order Here

  2. Meldrumโ€™s Chicken Noodle Soup (Massillon) (Basic? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely.)

  3. Burntwood Tavernโ€™s French Dip (Cuyahoga Falls) (Horseradish-y tastiness on a crusty bun.)

You didnโ€™t think Iโ€™d make you craft hungry, did you?

If you made it this far, I hope youโ€™re curled up somewhere cozy - preferably with a candle burning and no one ringing your doorbell. Hereโ€™s to a calmer, cozier November ahead. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿ“Š But before you go, tell meโ€ฆ

P.S. If youโ€™re doing #TeamCozy-Reset tonight, reward yourself with a scoop of Mitchellโ€™s Pumpkin Spice ice cream before itโ€™s gone - so much better than skeleton dรฉcor. ๐Ÿฆ
